How ‘Spotlight’ missed the story (COMMENTARY)

we appreciate the info in the article however …

the story, for intense purposes, is …

very much about clergy/staff CHILD SEX ABUSE in the roman catholic church …

and how/where it was devilishly covered up. wouldn’t this be THE spotlight?

when i read the title for the author’s ‘commentary’ … my first thought was, oh here it is … the rcc painting the movie as dishonest … paying someone for damage control … before the oscars—-you know, it’s usual at continuing to hide the abuse … and that they are covering these up

and that certainly DOES NOT help get word out … or give credibility to those working on these horrendous crimes … THROUGHOUT THE WORLD

and why, gibson, are we having to endure your pontiff’s sermonizing every day when there are far more illuminating teachings coming from others…

this is always a forced feed with you guys. your pope is your god, not mine and not the Christ so … enough already! he isn’t giving up his wad … the vatican isn’t giving up its wad … the bishops aren’t giving up their wad so …

it’s all a lot of grandstanding to make itself look ‘good’. sick of hearing rc hypocrite preaching.

geez, RNS … how long have you been pedestaling the roman catholic church … showing favoritism to this religion? almost every friggin’ day there is at least one article but often several. it is worse than tiresome. how much do they pay you over there at RNS to showcase the roman pontiff?

it really looks bad on your credential … misleading, and the articles often written on the rcc are written to make the current pontiff look good and often ignores some of the more serious stories about him and how he is connected to the crimes. this is like being in those countries that censor … they only want the reader to know certain things and those things are not always correct.
you should call yourself the ROMAN CATHOLIC RNS

they were starting to be a little more up front then fell right back to their usual. trying to scam the public on the truth about this pontiff is not right … not good and not at all equitable.

Matthew 22 is an interesting choice for moral coherence. It starts with the Parable of the Wedding Feast which condemns the Jews to mass murder due to their rejection of Jesus. While Jesus may love his neighbor, if the neighbor doesn’t believe that Jesus is God, he condemns him to eternity in Auschwitz. ie moral incoherence.

the guy is either an atheist max troll which RNS gave his own pedestal, despite his fraudulence … or he is racist … bigoted sociopath … then again, to be a troll posting this is sociopathic.

our hope is that a SERVICE with serious intent and illuminating work gets started and not this constant sermonizing every day … and troll nonsense … along with all the pedestaling of religious —the same religious sects—and the arrogance that goes along with it coming from these so-called teachers.

thanks for this … important for people to understand that priests are vocationalists, much like anyone else, doing a job laid out for them by their superiors. SPIRITUALLY speaking, they have no more valor or ‘spiritualness’ and are not above any other. if anything, many suffer from a lack of individuality … and reason. that is why so many in positions like this having sworn oaths to their curia struggle to thrive … sometimes doing things they should not … as we see in this article … and when people label them as something akin to godliness … well, they often take advantage of others while wearing its garment.

when benedict announced his retirement, what we were looking to see in the replacement head was a strict willingness to clean house … to act on the necessity to check each and every person working in and for the institution. it was upon george to focus on the corruption and the abuses. he made promises … but did not fulfill these, and … and he made it appear as if there would be significant changes in his institution … its doctrine-practices, however, many are still waiting for these changes. it is not a decent and equitable act to go out and play the political puppet for the agendas of your businessmen when there is much business needing very serious alteration, possibly even removing them altogether.
