no, folks … “an eye for an eye” has NOTHING to do with the death penalty for crimes

3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 For he says,

“In the time of my favor I heard you,
and in the day of salvation I helped you.”
I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

you see, folks … people cannot separate themselves from their SYSTEM OF BELIEF … no matter what VOCATIONAL TITLE THEY WEAR. this is why we spoke on the vocational priest verses the Spiritual, which is that of the royal priesthood spoken of in the Writings. anyone can be academically trained to be a VOCATIONAL PRIEST … and as the world is witnessing, these are not the holiest of men, and neither are their popes, bishops, cardinals and pastors … who wear the cloak of proclamation to their INSTITUTIONS—-THESE WERE NEVER WHAT CHRIST CALLED IN HIS APOSTLESHIP … never. this is not saying there were not men and women of worth and service to God—Spirit brought in for movement … for breaking away … for challenging the BELIEF SYSTEM. some were called within to draw out the mire … some were to move the masses for SPIRITUAL WELL BEING, but the task is immense and the road not paved as my dream of long ago shared (the Great Waterfall)

what will America do with all the CHILDREN caught up in the whirl of this devilish propaganda—the evil eyes beckoning the carriages of the youth to terrorize and destroy? drop a bomb on all of these? drug them to death? zap them with electric until they fry?

AMERICA, what are you allowing the Youth to feed on that brings them to the place of sickness? telling them to cut the heads and drop the bombs and pull the trickers that others suffer and die and suffer more?

“The Catholics will still pray to the Lamb of God at the Mass and then go home to happily eat a leg of lamb…”

You do know that we eat the Lamb of God at Mass as well, right?

Also, since Jesus ate animals during His time on Earth, it’d be a bit much for Pope Francis to say that it is sinful all of a sudden, don’t you think?

they eat the lamb of god (their doctrinal biases) then go out and murder—is this how it is supposed to work, RCs? you did torture and murder while eating this—yes? your history demonstrates a caliphate mind … what say you about this, Jay? And you have no proof of Jesus eating meat.

What is it about you people that you just make up things to serve your gods?

another article on rns that is NOT quite showing matters as they are

bernie sanders—atheist? not what I heard yesterday while listening to him speak. regarding his age, (health) he said: THANK GOD … (YES, HE ACTUALLY SAID THIS, CATHY!) … I HAVE BEEN BLESSED … (2x he said this in reference to God) … so … are we at rns being secretive about things or are we without knowledge about candidate … not having done homework?

    • opheliart permalink

would it be so damn hard for a journalist to actually interview the candidate to get the truth?

      • opheliart permalink

but do know that author of the article used the word “religion” not believer in God or believer in Spirit (of Spirit), but was using a photo of sanders as if he is an ATHEIST

a bit confusing wouldn’t you say?

and no, there will never be an avowed atheist as president … why? 🙂 something comes and no one with any sense and reason will claim non belief … and be taken seriously 😀 …
as for religion … well, that is just part of man’s credentials.

  7. opheliart permalink

regarding sanders … I read on religious news a while back “he is a fan of pope fran” … right off the bat this made me leery: a non religious candidate a fan of the leader of one of the largest and most RELIGIOUS organization/INSTITUTIONS in the world … ? what struck us as disingenuous was this intent to throw in the catholic “look-aid” for the world to lap up, and confuse … yes, confuse, as we know that pope fran and the rcc does not plan to change its doctrine … this is most clear (as they believe this infallible) … so, the position of women? health care and PROPER CARE IN CATHOLIC HOSPITALS FOR PREGNANT WOMEN is highly questionable and of very serious concern … their stance on a number of issues involving SOCIETY AT LARGE is in question, ESPECIALLY THEIR LACK OF PROPER INVESTIGATION AND HANDLING OF THE CLERGY SEX ABUSE … so … if sanders is a fan of a man with a criminal record (see NCR, SNAP, and others on pope fran’s denial, refusal and treatment of the clergy abuse of children in Argentina) … well, this does not present him as a caring, trustworthy leader for our country and certainly not one having done his homework if he is unaware of the bishop’s history!

tis a shame, you see … because sanders saying THANK GOD and I have been blessed … sounded to us to be sincere … but his hero worship (based on religious news info) is most definitely suspect … 😦

is it the catholic mind that says: I need not concern myself with my offenses now … my crimes … the betrayals … broken agreements … I will find a way to accuse those I offended then set myself up in a false marriage and parade self to world …

purgatory will purify me sometime later …
but what of those hurt and abused? lied to? betrayed? the priest cannot save you no matter what he claims — no matter what hand waving he does … no matter what cross he swings and what incense he burns or what dress he wears inside those religious rooms where no FEMALE DARE ENTER …

put away the things of the child and be honest, please … what will YOU do to make amends for your crime(s) … and how will you do this without UNDERSTANDING these?

“Art?” I say it is an insult. It is obscene even for people who have no religious sensitivities at all. The Church isn’t trying to be mean about the use of condoms. The Church is carrying out its God-given command to abstain from all immorality. Of course, this stance isn’t going to be popular in a world here “anything goes.” But the, the Church isn’t seeking popularity, but obedience to God and love of neighbor. The world will reply, “Love of neighbor?!” Yes, love of newborn and of God Who only wants what is best for His children! The sexual impulse is strong, but like man, it, too, is fallen. A person is not to give in to these impulses, except in marriage and even then it must be moderated. Prayer is the only way to overcome these out of control impulses as it is constant prayer and vigilance that is necessary for control of other evil impulses (such as murder, theft, lying, gluttony, etc.), as well.

I find it odd how the Left expresses their hatred for the Catholic Church. You can almost see the fangs come out in these types of things.

        JR June 30, 2015 at 6:53 am
Thank God Catholics do not react to these grotesque images as Islam would. I’m dumbfounded the museum would embrace this artist’s deformed “message through art” mind, and that the public would care to even see it. Is this supposed to prod the Church to change its Teachings on contraception, to embarrass it into submission? As if.
The Church teaches morality in the manner God would. It cannot make exceptions for the dubious claim that condoms would eliminate AIDS in Africa. Is this fame seeking artist aware of this, or just an atheistic drone believing her work is of any value short of shock?
Do museums accept all things controversial for the dollar? Then frame the Muhammed cartoons and display them alongside Benedict’s “portrait”.
Or why not create a portrait of Obama using cotton and watermelon?
Absolutely disgraceful…..shame on all citizens of Milwaukee.

Betty Clermont June 30, 2015 at 10:15 am
There will always be fundamentalists who see dogma as more important than saving people’s lives. I only wish the exhibit pictured Pope Francis instead since he shares Benedict’s opposition to contraceptives to alleviate the suffering of the poor in Africa and elsewhere.

        JR June 30, 2015 at 10:47 am
What a bizarre attitude, Betty. Should we murder all Muslims because a minority are terrorists? Why wouldn’t that be a solution to the suffering of the world today? Does Pope Benedict’s teaching stop any African from using contraceptives? Why should he, or any Pope, violate the natural law to addresses a disease that has many more alternative cures? Marital fidelity, chastity, abstaining from sex, human dignity, moral behavior, are but a few of the answers for AIDS. The Church cannot sanction an evil for an assumed good outcome……it would be contradicting itself.

THE LIVING UNIVERSE by Duane Elgin, page 61- , under Judeo-Christian Views

To explore the connection between Christianity and the cosmos, it is important to begin by acknowledging theological complexity of Christianity, with its many voices, institutions, and shifting emphases over time.
As theologians reexamine Christian history, one of the themes being explored is the idea that God not only creates and sustains the universe, but that the universe actually participates in the “being” of God. Here are quotes from the Bible that suggests a view of “God” as a divine spiritual presence that creates the universe and continues to be present in it.

In him we live, and move, and have our being …. We are his offspring.
    ——- Acts 17:28

Through him all things came to be, not one thing had its being but through him.

the catholic’s “spiritual” leader, pope fran, former pope benedict … former pope John Paul II, the newly chosen CUPICH as archbishop for chicago … as NOTHING CHANGES IN THE VATICAN MIND ON DOCTRINE … whether the catholics vote democrat, republican or not at all …

and there is pope fran’s choice in chile (barros) suspected of hiding crimes … and, of course, even pope fran himself when he was assigned these similar roles in argentina, and the world says:
ah, our prophet … a man of peace … an honest and humble man who is pastoral in his approach, but the victims at the hands of these men say NO, not true!

Victims Blast Cupich for Fr. Mccormack Case Statement

    April 8, 2015

Archbishop Blase Cupich showed today that he deals with clergy sex crimes and cover ups no better than his predecessor did.

Two more civil abuses and cover up lawsuits are being filed tomorrow against the archdiocese for the dreadfully deceitful and reckless way top Catholic officials kept Fr. Daniel McCormack on the job around unsuspecting families despite repeated warnings and “red flags” of inappropriate behavior.

Instead of a truly pastoral response, Cupich’s public relations team repeated the old “distancing” maneuvers that Catholic bishops have used for decades when discussing predator priests.

“Daniel McCormack is no longer a priest,” archdiocese spokeswoman Susan Burritt said in a statement. “He was removed from public ministry in February of 2006 and laicized (removed from the priesthood) in November 2007.”

That’s common knowledge. That tells no one anything that’s helpful.

Wouldn’t it have been reassuring had Cupich shown real courage and compassion and told his public relations team to say something like:

“I won’t be satisfied until every single McCormack victim has been found and helped and until every single McCormack enabler on the church payroll has been exposed and punished.

“Since McCormack spent time in the Gary Indiana diocese, I am asking my colleague there, Bishop Donald Hying, to join me in aggressively begging every single person who may have suffered, suspected or suffered crimes by McCormack, or cover ups by church officials, to speak up, expose wrongdoers, call police, get help, protect others, deter deceit and start healing. We’re putting notices in every single parish bulletin in the archdiocese urging those with information or suspicions about McCormack to come forward to police and prosecutors now.”

But no such luck. Cupich, who works hard to be seen as a “reformer,” sent out today the same old carefully-crafted, lawyer-written boilerplate statement implying that he has little power to do anything about McCormack at this point and let’s all just forget about it.

    It’s very disappointing.

Ironically, Cupich’s statement on McCormack came out on the same day Pope Francis, in a homily, said

“All of us adults are responsible for children . . .when it is a question of children, we should not hear those formulas of office legal defense such as: “after all, we are not a welfare entity”; or “In privacy, each one is free to do what he wishes”; or also “we don’t like it, we can’t do anything.” These words are not right when it is a question of children.”

But that’s precisely what Cupich is saying about McCormack. Instead of doing something helpful, Cupich ducks and dodges and pretends to be powerless, saying what the Pope himself admits is wrong to say: “we can’t do anything.”

As SNAP president Barbara Blaine said a few months ago:

“Many assume that the public knows all about the Fr. McCormack case. It does not. We are convinced there is crucial information about how Chicago Catholic officials dealt with this notorious predator that church figures are still hiding. Just as important, we believe, is information about others clerics who committed and concealed awful crimes against kids that is similarly still being hidden.”

“Archdiocesan officials have put out a very sanitized version of how they handled pedophile priests. Parents, police, parishioners, prosecutors and the public deserve more. We hope this new, ground-breaking suit will pry that helpful information out of the files, hands and mouths of current and former top Catholic officials here.”

“Kids are still being assaulted by Catholic clergy. Bishops are still hiding predator priests. So something more and new must be tried so that more of the truth can be revealed, more of the wrongdoers can be exposed, and more of the vulnerable can be protected.”

(SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, is the world’s oldest and largest support group for clergy abuse victims. We were founded in 1988 and have more than 20,000 members. Two new lawsuits to be filed over alleged McCormack sexual abuse

    Posted: 04/08/2015, 02:36pm | Jordan Owen

Two more lawsuits will be filed Thursday against the Archdiocese of Chicago, alleging sexual abuse by convicted child molester and defrocked priest Daniel McCormack.

The lawsuits, filed on behalf of “John T. Doe 24” and “John M. Doe,” will be filed in Cook County Circuit Court on Thursday by the law offices of Lyndsay A. Markley, according to a statement from the law firm.

One of the men alleges he was abused on and off between 2001 and 2006, beginning when he was 7 years old, according to the attorneys. The other alleges he was sexually abused on two occasions in 2001, when he was 14. Both were part of an after-school program—”Safe”—at St. Agatha Parish on the West Side.

“Daniel McCormack is no longer a priest,” archdiocese spokeswoman Susan Burritt said in a statement. “He was removed from public ministry in February of 2006 and laicized (removed from the priesthood) in November 2007.”

“No priest with even one substantiated allegation of sexual abuse of a minor serves in ministry in the Archdiocese of Chicago today,” Burritt added.

McCormack was originally arrested for sex crimes in January 2006, the Sun-Times reported previously. He pleaded guilty in 2007 to abusing five children while he was a parish priest at St. Agatha. He was sentenced to five years in prison.

Last year, McCormick was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse in a 2005 incident involving a boy who was a minor at the time, according to the Sun-Times. He was denied bond in that case and is being held at a treatment center.

Each six-count suit seeks more than $300,000 in damages.
