The Macabre.

December 8, 2013

About seven  years ago I was in deep thought with a Brother, and this Brother said to me:

I heard in prayer … God will be doing things differently.

I say, Aman; it is time. Everywhere I see signs of this difference, and in communing, I hear that it is so. As Dylan sang, the times they are a-changin’ … More specific to the understanding would be, the Time has come for Difference.

During the World Series, someone shared with me that James Taylor started to sing the “wrong” anthem.

O beautiful for spacious skies …

Wrong? I don’t think so. In truth, I believe it to be intentional.
For amber waves of grain;
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood,
From sea to shining sea.

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain DIVINE.

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self control,
Thy liberty in law.

Even these lyrics could use some difference.

From The Book of Thomas:

Thomas answered and said, “What can we say in the face of these things? What shall we say to those who are blind? What teaching shall we give those miserable mortals who say, ‘We have come to [do] good and not to curse,’ and will [say] further, ‘If we had not been born in the flesh, we would not have known iniquity’?”

The Savior said, “To tell the truth, do not think of these as human beings, but regard them [as] animals. As animals devour each other, so people like this devour each other. They are deprived of the kingdom, since they love the delight of fire and are slaves of death and rush to deeds of corruption. They fulfill the desire of their parents. …”

Thomas answered and said, “Master, what can one cast down to them do? I am very concerned about them, for many oppose them.”

The Savior said, “Brother Thomas, while you are still in this world, listen to me and I shall reveal to you what you have thought about in your heart.”

A worthy question here might be: Is there a difference between man and human?

An even greater question might be: Was Thomas an Angel brought down for specific works?

His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. Revelation 12.4

The tail of the great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his head is symbolic for the oasis of departure. This being the preeminent birth of things to come. These stars are the Angels sent to do the bidding of the One in Whose Name we are held, but we are only held if we are known. When God says in Matthew 7.23, I never knew you, He is really saying … How can I know YOU, if you don’t know ME? So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10.17. The Savior in The Book of Thomas says, listen to me and I shall reveal to you what you have thought in your heart. One hears with THE HEART, and in “the place” of Brother Thomas, the heart had ascended to the mind that he might hear with The Heart.

Is macabre merely an adjective?

Peace and Love.
