The Necessary Monster of Necessitation

June 8, 2013

I know I have what appear to be typos in my essays, and I know that most often when I type these, they are not intentional, despite my jokes  about writing in code (and the moment or two when I’ve wondered if a gremlin has slipped in and muddled up a sentence ). But after reading the essays that I too might learn from what is written, I catch these, and know they are intended for a purpose.

The following is one such purposeful typo from the previous essay.

“It is very important to add here that healing from past wounds must be solidly underway in order for anyone to come into the Station of Serving as Priest. You do not pastor others until you yourself have been pastored … appropriately. Unfortunately, it is the way of those with self-agendas to allow the one in the process of Becoming to believe he has already arrived. “You are already priest,” he says. And he cleverly works it so that his priest overlooks the need for self-evaluation and Transformation, overlooks his need for healing, and passes over the [necessary rendering necessary] for the title of spiritual leadership, that will take him into a calling designed by God the Father.”

[necessary rendering necessary] This might also read, the necessary rendering of necessitation. Necessitation becomes the Life in this act of rendering, but it is not solely noun, for it is continuous. When we look at the Scripture passage, I am the way, the truth, and the life, it is this life that is BEING – Being of necessitation, or of RESUSCITATION. This, all having to do with the Becoming. Incidentally, this is just a more in depth explanation of the following statement from Understanding the Greek Orthodox Church, 4th edition, by Demetrios J. Constantelos

It is only by faith and spiritual experience can one confirm that God is Father.

The stagnant point in this statement is not the statement itself, for I experienced its element of design at first read. Its stagnant point rests in the inability for those claiming God authority to hear its fuller voice, as they insist on the patriarchal trumpets of light. No. No, brothers, do not disavow its Presence in the Rendering, which is of mixed elements: water, blood and bread. But if your intent is solely to Be “all man” in your understanding of Godhood, you WILL NOT experience She. Jesus wrote in the dirt in the temple courts (John 8) for man to see, and this was what any married Jew might understand should he have respect for life: You are She. Equality – the same, yet different, but both a necessity for life in Breath of Spirit. The three exist in this Life. Water of woman, Bread of man, and Blood of Spirit (Blood of the Lamb).

Look what has been done in Religion because man has been beating his head against that door to Self – male dominant generations of spiritual immaturity. Hey, I love male, but I don’t love his immaturity in his solely male-inspired spiritual adulthood. Put those childish ‘things’ away … I don’t care how degreed he is, or how he jumps on this bandwagon to play his brass. Please, do not degrade my Being. Seriously though, it’s a matter of the mind.

Men are filled with the knowledge of understanding, but less able to comprehend the understanding as knowledge. That would be self-knowledge. Why? Because they are of the mindset to organize union when union is organized as a self apart from man. (from Essay Irenaeus Who?)

Allow me a story.

While in prayer,  a woman heard the words: You are a monster. The woman was somewhat distraught. A monster? How is it that I am a monster? I discerned on this for a bit, and was led to the following.

monster is  … The word usually connotes something wrong or evil; a monster is generally morally objectionable, physically or psychologically hideous, and/or a freak of nature. It can also be applied figuratively to a person with similar characteristics like a greedy person or a person who does horrible things.

However, the root of ‘monstrum’ is ‘monere’ – which does not only mean to warn, but also to instruct, and forms the basis of the modern English ‘demonstrate’. Thus, the monster is also a sign or instruction. This benign interpretation was proposed by Saint Augustine, who did not see the monster as inherently evil, but as part of the natural design of the world, a kind-of deliberate category error. Wikidedia

Aman, Augustine, one day I may read his Retractions. But what does this have to do with necessary rendering necessitation? First of all, the rendering can be a monster of sorts. I won’t lie to you, but if you fear change, fear seeing yourself through God’s eyes, lack faith and prefer to push the snooze button on Monster, then you can forget Life. For, one cannot know truth without first seeing the Light of Love. As C. S. Lewis said in Mere Christianity, love is God. So, Love IS. Is, was and will Be. In the beginning was the word and the word was with God, and the word was God. He was in the beginning with God.2 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.3 In Him was life, and the life was light of men.4 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend.5 John (God is Gracious).

There’s a lot of ‘wases’ in the verses in John. Why? Why not is? Such as, the word is with God. In Him is life. Here’s something that I find logical. I asked a fairly weighted question in prayer. I heard silence. I asked again, a different way. I heard silence. I asked in every way I could possibly imagine. Still, silence. Is silence the answer? I asked. What I heard in return was and is instrumental. I heard: I can’t answer you, ____. This produced a succession of questions, until finally, I saw it. “You are not there yet.” You have not reached that part on the way. Suddenly, I was reminded of my own efforts in understanding: Pick up your mat and walk. Talk up your cross. Ascend heart to mind. I am on the way, but I am not there yet. Very simply, it can’t be known in my present place. So, the next question should be:

Who am I? Who am I that I might know?

Picture this, Light enters Darkness, and Darkness says, “What are you?” This is like Love entering Hate, and Hate says, “What are you?”  If Hate (or Evil) could see its reflection in Light, Hate might see that Hate is Evil, and Hate might Hate Evil. Man resides in Darkness. He does not hate Evil, for he does not comprehend itself, but allows Evil to use Hate incorrectly.

John’s passage demonstrates the most beautiful of lessons: we are, and we are not.  Two choices of Hate present us. We are a necessary monster for necessitation, not only within ourselves, but within the world. Hate hypocrisy. Love truth. Hate deceit and lies. Love honesty and fairness. Are we Light within Darkness? Or are we Darkness unknown to Light? Both within, and without.

No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light. The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. Luke 11.33-35

Your eye is the union of three. You see with the mind. You hear with the heart. Your mind may see a vision, a sign, a truth, but knows not what it sees. Your heart hears, but knows not the sound. What/Who makes it possible for the union in the heart ascending to the mind that it might receive Light on the Word? Or proper discernment on the vision, sign and truth?

And while the crowds were thickly gathered together, He began to say,”This is an evil generation. It seeks a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet. For as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also the Son of Man will be to this generation. The queen of the South will rise up in the judgement with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.” Luke 11. 29-31

The sign of Jonah the prophet is dove and peace. Our Lord speaks in symbols and images. The queen of the South refers to “enlightenment”. So, this She Enlightenment will rise up in the judgement of men of this generation and condemn them. The ends of the earth are the waters of iniquity.

Jesus came as God, the Prophet. He died that we might know Life. We can’t know Life if we are not of the way, or in truth. Regarding my question that resulted in the understanding, you are not there yet, I had been discerning on the topic a few weeks back, but chose to be detoured, and did not move far enough in this truth to be able to move forward in understanding, therefore, I was not there yet, at least not enough to be able to HEAR within this knowledge. Okay, now,  how does that look?

From essay The Gospel of Thomas (Part Two)

In the Way, the Truth, and the Life … the life holds the feminine wisdom because it holds truth, but truth holds the Father. The way is a union of both because it sires life. But no one can come to the Father except through the anointed, the Way. I suppose an easy way to understand this is to take a piece a fruit – a peach, for instance. You have the outer, which should reflect the inner. The peach represents life. It holds the feminine wisdom in its essence – its fragrance, and its nutrients, which is its truth, but it also holds and protects the seed, the source of the continuation of this. In other words, you need the seed in order to produce more fruit, but you won’t be able to produce unless you eat of the fruit itself. You don’t eat the seed of the peach, but you do benefit from its flesh. If you eat its flesh, and benefit from this, you will be inclined to use the seed to grow more trees that you might have more fruit. Of course, a grounds keeper is necessary to see to the trees, one who knows when and how to prune, and understands the growing.

To conclude this rather lengthy essay, in Light of what is known, we must engage with that Monster, that we might BE (Become), and Breathe the Life of the Spirit.
